What is the impact of illegal wildlife poaching?

Its illegal to poach the wildlife due to the fact that the specific animal is endangered or something along that lines. If you kill to many of the animals, the animal will go extinct( at least in that area.) Science could be applied to better and increase breeding of the animal and preservation of there habitats. The advantage is that we don't kill off animals, and the disadvantage is just that it takes some resources to do that. It hurts the environment when species die off. This issue is argued a lot in the government, in terms of poaching laws and zoning laws. And there are many other things to address, but non are coming to mind. Google would probably be a better place to search some of this.
