Kenmore Front Load Dryer TOO HOT TO TOUCH!?

Yes, it's very likely the thermostat. It's probably stuck on high. I had one to get real hot like that and if I hadn't been home I'm sure it would have caught fire. I turned it off and it wouldn't go off. The only way it went off was when I unplugged it. The repairman replaced the thermostat and it kept working for another ten years. Well worth the cost of the repairman...rather than a new dryer.
